Today there are many ways of dental implants, which are different form the implant and the general principle of the procedure.

Every day implantation in Kiev is becoming more varieties.

Of all the possible methods is to provide the two most commonly used: the classical implantation and more modern, but there is little used basal implantation. Consider alternate features and advantages of each method to understand why the classical method for many years, does not lose its popularity, and basal – often criticized by experts.

Classical implantation - the tried and tested method for many years, although it is not the most simple. The principles of this type of implant has changed little since its inception, although the implants themselves have changed a lot, as well as tools used in the operation.

The reliability of the method as well due to a long process, which can be up to 1 year. Perhaps this was one reason to look for other, quicker ways to restore teeth.

Performance and installation steps

Stages of classical implantology:

  • The preparatory phase (up to 14 days)
  • Artificial bone (5 to 6 months)
  • Install the implant (4 to 6 months)
  • Prosthetics (up to 7 days)

The main requirement of this kind of implantation – - a suitable amount of bone, its depth and a sufficient density. Because very often carried out before installing the build-up of bone implant root.

Then formed a bed and immersed himself in the bone implant. It comes in a laser, which makes a thin incision in the gum, without blood. By using this tool at one stage there was a name  laser implantation. After merging with the bone implant abutment is established, which is mounted on the prepared tooth crown, made individually removed from the impression, in a special laboratory. Dental crowns are fixed dental cement, and the imitation of the tooth becomes almost absolute.

Timing setting

Now you can calculate how much time it takes, since the loss of the tooth to the implant. But before that, it is worth noting that the operation can only be carried out after 1 – 3 months after tooth extraction.

Accordingly, if the patient needs to build bone, the total period of from 10 to 15 months;

If the bone of the patient enough, and you can skip the second stage, the period will be from 6 to 9 months.

During the healing of the implant patient is fitted with temporary dentures, eliminating the discomfort and do not create more stress on the jaw.

The reliability of this method is not one tested a dozen years, according to statistics 96% of the root of classical implant root, and serve man more than 20 years.

Summarizing, we can say that the main drawback of this method is the long duration of the procedure, this also implies the cost, which is more than one-step implantation.

Basal implants

What is the difference from the classical implant  basal? Classic implant is a rod that is embedded  in the bone deep enough, and the basal implants can be embedded at a shallow depth, due to its shape, and occupies a large area in the bone. Because of this fundamental difference, and come all the advantages and disadvantages of the basal implantology.

Basal implants does not require bone augmentation and sinus lift surgery and implant even set a very thin bone. It is worth noting as well that the basal implantation does not apply when installing implants 1-2 and used to install more than 3 straight teeth.

A significant advantage of the method is the speed of the procedure, in the absence of the need for further operations to build bone, and because it does not take a long time for healing.

You can set the entire jaw implants in just a few days. And as soon as a few days after the operation will be to carry out a full load of chewing. Just the cost of such an operation is lower than the classical, in the absence of many stages.

However, it can be assumed that this method is less reliable, plus to all this is not enough statistical information on the durability of basal implants since the massive operation appeared recently, and the merit of a high rate of proliferation was active and successful marketing manufacturers of these types of implants.

Not enough time has passed yet that would surely praise, or vice versa, to criticize this method, however, expert dentists, including dentistry, «Doctor Zub» came to the conclusion that the basal implants have the following disadvantages:

  • Installation basal implants rather cumbersome process that requires specialized training;
  • severely injured bone and periodontal;
  • the percentage of rejection of basal implants is much higher than that of contemporary classical screw implantation;
  • in the case of rejection of the basal implant, there is a significant decrease of bone tissue, which is a long and tedious further treatment, and its capacity;
  • prosthesis has limited capabilities compared to classical implants. Prostheses not adhere tightly to periodontitis, are less aesthetically pleasing;
  • method is not approved by the Associations of Implantology in all advanced countries, including the United States and Western Europe.

In dentistry «Doctor Zub» specialists are certified and significant experience in both classical and basal implantation. However, we tend to be more reliable way, which is safe to give guarantees. This is a classical method. But despite this, the word of the patient when choosing a treatment method is always considered.
